Sep 30th, 2011 by cbrown

We would like to welcome Nichole McDonald and Jessica Pool to the Symplicity team!

nichole-mcdonald.jpgNichole McDonald is going to be a great help in our Mobility Management product. She will be focusing on assisting our clients with ordering services and hardware and managing cellular bills and services. With her prior experience in Customer Service and Loss Prevention at JCPenney, we know that Nichole will be a great asset to our team.

As a Symplicity Sales and Marketing Intern, Jessica Pool will be helping us out with many tasks. With our growing company, we felt we could use another set of hands to keep our marketing and sales materials and database up-to-date. Jessica attends Grand Valley State University and is using the internship to fulfill senior credit requirements.

Happy 4th Birthday Symplicity

On January 5, Symplicity celebrated it’s fourth year in business! In 2007, the company was founded by Catherine Lazarock, who conducted business from her home.  Over the years, Symplicity has grown in many ways.  The company now employs six individuals, operates two branches, helps companies all over the world, and has seen triple digit growth for the past three years!  In addition, Catherine and Symplicity have won several awards including the Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs  Woman of the Year Award in 2010,  the Grand Valley State University 2010 Outstanding Internship Supervisor of the Year Award, and the Corp! Magazine  Michigan’s Economic Bright Spots Award.  Symplicity was also  chosen as a top three finalist for the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce EPIC Awards.

It is at this time that we want to thank our customers and partners for helping Symplicity to become the successful company that it is today.  We could not have come this far without your continued support.  Thank you and Happy Birthday Symplicity!

Symplicity On The Town

This holiday season, Symplicity staff were seen at several events around town.  Check out our Facebook page or our Blog for more details on the following events.

The West Michigan Technology Association (WMTA) Holiday Party
On December 2, the staff at Symplicity celebrated the holiday with the West Michigan Technology Association (WMTA) at the Rock Fire Grille in Grand Rapids.  The event had a wonderful turnout and many prizes were given away including a Wii Gaming System, donated by Symplicity Communications and Infusion Communications Group and two gift certificates to Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course, donated by US Signal.

Holiday Visit to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans

This holiday season, Symplicity wanted to do something to give back to our community.  We chose to visit the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans to spread the holiday cheer.  With the help of some of our partners, clients, vendors, and friends, we were able to sponsor lunch, entertainment, and donate over 30 gifts to the men and women that have served our country.  Santa even made an appearance to help us pass out presents!  Thank you to everyone who helped us make this event so special for our country’s veterans.

finalists, including Symplicity, will be honored and the winners within each of the four revenue categories will be announced.  Symplicity will waits with anticipation as March 2nd approaches for the chance of being honored with this wonderful title.

Symplicity is also excited about several other pending award nominations.  Currently, Symplicity is in the running for the U.S. Small Business Administration “Women in Business Champion of the Year” and the Michigan Business and Professional Association “West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For”.  We are absolutely thrilled for such great opportunities and hope to bring you news of further award nominations in the future.

An Evening with Entrepreneurs
Jul 21st, 2010 by cbrown

Inforum—A professional women’s alliance, is an organization that aims to empower professional women to “lead and succeed”. The organization puts on numerous programs throughout the year providing social, educational, and networking opportunities to women business owners. These events allow women entrepreneurs to learn more about other women-owned businesses in their area so that they can continue to empower the women within their community. On Thursday, June 17, Inforum held a networking dinner event at the Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids. The event entitled “An Evening with Entrepreneurs” provided attendees with a beautiful dinner and the chance to learn from influential West Michigan women entrepreneurs. After dinner, a panel discussion was held in which four entrepreneurs shared their professional struggles and experiences in opening and owning a business. The panel included Amy Engelsman, CEO of Proos Manufacturing, Joan Epperson, President of Global Business Solutions & Associates, LLC, Dr. Barbara Helms, Owner of Helms Family Optical, and Catherine Lazarock, President of our very own Symplicity Communications, Inc.
