Veteran’s Home Volunteer Event
Dec 27th, 2010 by cbrown

vets-home.jpgWe would like to say THANK YOU to all of the individuals who made contributions to our Veterans Home event last week. We had a great time and could not have made the event nearly as special without some help from some extraordinary people. With their help, Symplicity was able to give away 10 DVD players, 4 mp3 players, 2 boom boxes, 4 Griffins tickets,10 Tigers tickets and two popcorn gift bags. We were also able to sponsor a musical group to entertain after the presents had been distributed. The following people helped us to make this possible:

Lyda Wilcox, Dave Bahls, Marnie Johnson, Mary Jo Weessies, Jane Anderson, The staff at Center for Physical Rehabilitation, Paul Zelenka, The staff at Regus, Sharon and Eric Martinez, Kristina Evey, and Brett Wardrop of the Grand Rapids Griffins

Making the Holidays Brighter … One Symple Step at a Time
Dec 15th, 2010 by cbrown

symplicity-christmas-tree.jpgThis holiday season, Symplicity Communications, Inc. is taking time to “pay it forward”.  On Friday, December 17, our staff will visit the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans to spread some holiday cheer to the veteran residents.  We will be taking gifts over to the home during the day and spending some time with these individuals who have shown such dedication to our country.  The team at Symplicity will be serving a holiday meal to the veterans as well as providing gifts and sponsoring entertainment, and we would love for you to join us!

The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans is home to over 700 residents ranging in age from 20 to 100.  Symplicity will be spending time with a younger unit in honor of Catherine Lazarock’s brother, a young man who served in the Navy until he passed away in November 1999, just three days before his 25th birthday.  We will be keeping Roger (more affectionately known as Butchie) in our thoughts as we take time to visit the individuals who have served our country that may not otherwise have visitors during this special time of the year.

We would like to invite our clients, partners, and friends to participate in this special event with us.  If you are interested in contributing to our gift fund or joining us on Friday as we share our holiday spirit with these deserving individuals, please give us a call at 616-717-5750 or email Catherine at clazarock@symplicitycom.com.  We would like to give as much as possible and would greatly appreciate your help in making this event special for the individuals at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.  Whether you donate dollars or time, your contribution can help to bring joy to someone’s holiday season.
