Nichole McDonald is going to be a great help in our Mobility Management product. With her prior experience in Customer Service and Loss Prevention at JCPenney, we know that Nichole will be a great asset to our team.
As a Symplicity Sales and Marketing Intern, Jessica Pool will be helping us out with many tasks. With our growing company, we felt we could use another set of hands to keep our marketing and sales materials and database up-to-date. Jessica attends Grand Valley State University and is using the internship to fulfill senior credit requirements.
As you may recall, back in December Symplicity threw a holiday party for the residents at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. We had a great time at the party, and Santa Clause even showed up to give away some special prizes, including tickets to a Detroit Tigers game! On Sunday, July 17, 13 lucky veterans boarded a Detroit bound Hummer Limo and road to the game in style.
It was a beautiful day for baseball at Comerica Park. Although it was a bit hot outside, our cool, air conditioned suite provided an escape from the heat and humidity. While watching the Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox, we all enjoyed a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet and crossed our fingers between innings, hoping to win one of the many prize giveaways.
Thanks to some help from our friends Marnie Johnson of Infusion Communications Group, Jayme McLean of the Detroit Tigers, and Sharon and Eric Martinez, we were able to provide the veterans with goodie bags, prizes and gifts, making their experience that much better.
At the end of the day, the veterans offered up a round of applause in thanks for a fun day at the Tigers game. Symplicity however prefers to thank them for their commitment to our country. Our veterans do not receive enough recognition for all that they do; so on behalf of Symplicity, I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country!
You may view more pictures from this event by visiting our Facebook page. If you are interested in contributing to next year’s holiday party or Tigers outing, please contact Caitlin at cbrown@symplicitycom.com. With your help, we can make these events even more special for the Veterans.

This holiday season, Symplicity Communications, Inc. is taking time to “pay it forward”. On Friday, December 17, our staff will visit the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans to spread some holiday cheer to the veteran residents. We will be taking gifts over to the home during the day and spending some time with these individuals who have shown such dedication to our country. The team at Symplicity will be serving a holiday meal to the veterans as well as providing gifts and sponsoring entertainment, and we would love for you to join us!
The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans is home to over 700 residents ranging in age from 20 to 100. Symplicity will be spending time with a younger unit in honor of Catherine Lazarock’s brother, a young man who served in the Navy until he passed away in November 1999, just three days before his 25th birthday. We will be keeping Roger (more affectionately known as Butchie) in our thoughts as we take time to visit the individuals who have served our country that may not otherwise have visitors during this special time of the year.
We would like to invite our clients, partners, and friends to participate in this special event with us. If you are interested in contributing to our gift fund or joining us on Friday as we share our holiday spirit with these deserving individuals, please give us a call at 616-717-5750 or email Catherine at clazarock@symplicitycom.com.
